Hello! Welcome to our turn on the YA Shot Blog Tour. We have an interview with Simon coming soon, but today we thought we’d put the spotlight on Simon Mason, author of Running Girl and upcoming follow up, Kid Got Shot.
Before Running Girl was published, Simon wrote several other books. Remember The Quigleys? The Quigleys was another series of books written by Simon prior to the Garvie Smith novels coming out, including ‘The Quigleys,’ ‘The Quigleys at Large,’ ‘The Quigleys Are Not For Sale,’ and ‘The Quigleys in a Spin.’
Simon is no stranger to adult books either, having written three of them. But what are the Garvie Smith novels about?
Garvie Smith attends Marsh Academy, and has the highest IQ ever recorded at the school, but he’s got the lowest grades ever recorded too. ‘What’s the point?’ he thinks. However, throughout the books he gets drawn into investigations and mysteries, and in Running Girl DI Singh doesn’t think that Garvie’s help is needed investigating what happened to Chloe, but learns that the complete opposite is true soon afterwards.
Garvie and DI Singh’s paths cross again in Kid Got Shot, which comes out this Thursday (6th October).
Simon’s YA novels are perfect for those who like mystery thrillers. You may like them if you are a fan of the Alex Rider novels by Anthony Horowitz, but I would definitely recommend them.
That’s our little spotlight on Simon Mason! Our interview with him is coming soon, so look out for that and follow @yashotmediateam on Twitter for the rest of the blog posts on the fantastic YA Shot blog tour!
